Support from Baker Tilly Staples Rodway counts

Life Education Trust is delighted to have the support of Baker Tilly Staples Rodway, a network of Accounting and Advisory Firms providing core business advice services to Kiwi businesses across New Zealand. They became a national sponsor in April 2020. Since then, they’ve brightened things up with a Downlights pop up store, and stepped up to tango with Trusts Dancing.

The underlying philosophy of Baker Tilly Staples Rodway is ‘great conversations, great futures, great relationships’. So, there’s a special fit with Life Education Trust and its focus on wellbeing for tamariki and on community.

“The interaction with young people and focus on preparing them for life, the national footprint and the longevity of the Trust’s work with schools is something that sets Life Education Trust apart” says David Searle, Chairperson, Baker Tilly Staples Rodway.

David and the wider team are also particularly impressed with Life Education’s SMART$ programme which supports young people to increase their financial literacy.

“All our Member Firms all support Life Education Trust in different ways. Some have a team member on the local trust as a Trustee, others engage in local fundraising and all our Firms encourage our people to support Life Education Trust’s work where they can.” says David.

This year, Keryn Jarvis, an Associate for Baker Tilly Staples Rodway in the Bay of Plenty signed up for the Trusts local Dancing for Life Education fundraising Event.

Keryn loves to challenge herself, and finds it easier to get motivated with an event or something to aim for, so Dancing for Life Education seemed perfect!

Keryn is passionate about Life Education Trust, having volunteered as a trustee since 2017. She's looking forward to pushing her limits and having a bit of fun ….. all while laughing at herself during what might be a challenging process!

Baker Tilly has also hosted a Downlights popup store in their offices. It’s another example of how their support adds up.

The pop up presented a line of bespoke candles that Life Education’s Auckland Central produced with Downlights. Every candle purchased will fund 10 Life Education Student Take Home Workbooks, which children work on after their lesson in the Mobile Classrooms!
