Southland

Southland Trust

Overview

The Life Education Southland Trust has been successfully delivering the Life Education programme to children throughout the Southland area since 1992.

In 2022 the Trust reached 7,590 children.  83% of schools in the area have annual visits.  There is currently a waiting list of schools wanting the opportunity to change from biennial visits to annual visits, and new schools who also want us to visit.

Our Educator

Teresa Wallace

Teresa grew up in Bluff, attending primary school in Bluff and high school in Invercargill. She ventured off to Dunedin to train as a teacher, graduating with a DipTchg Primary and a B.Ed in 1996. She taught at Rockdale Park school and Wyndham Primary school before becoming a Mother to three children.

Teresa has been an Educator with Life Education since 2007 and LOVEs her job. She really enjoys seeing how excited the children are when they arrive at school in the morning and they see the Mobile Classroom, the joy on their faces when they catch up with Harold and see the stars, the WOW moments when learning about the body and the selfies the Y8’s take with Harold after their final session in the Mobile Classroom. She believes what we teach is important for everyday life and feels privileged to be able to teach the Life Ed messages to the children of Southland.
