  • How can I be a good friend?
  • Students discuss what a good friend is, and how to develop the qualities to enable strong and positive relationships with others.
  • What can we do when we have problems?
  • How can we respond when we are faced with a problem such as conflict, being excluded, dealing with a broken friendship, or witnessing unkind acts? How could we choose what to do? Is this something we can control? Where could we go for help?

    Independent Learning Activities

  • Friends wordfind

    This level 2/3 independent learning activity looks at friendship words round a wordfind, including words such as together, sharing and reliable.  It includes an answer sheet. 

  • Good Friends

    This level 3 independent learning activity looks at friendship with students encouraged to think about what makes a good friend by finishing off the sentences.  For example 'Good friends are.......'  'Good friends try.....'

  • Important qualities in friends

    This level 3/4 independent activity involves cards around friendship traits that can be cut out.  The students can decide which are more or less important to them. They can also be used to think about what qualities they have.

  • Learning Experiences (Teacher Led)

  • Belonging and Including

    This level 3 classroom activity (class, group or pair work) looks at the importance of belonging and including others, especially when someone is new.

  • Working as a Team

    This level 3 classroom activity (pair or group work) looks at how we can help others when working together.  People bring different skills and experiences and by helping others it can also develop their own skills as well.
