Food cards
This level 1/2 independent learning activity involves students cutting out the cards and grouping them into the food groups to show a balanced diet. It could also be used to play snap or memory if two sets were printed out.

This level 1/2 independent learning activity looks at the thing we need to put in our body to give us energy.

This level 2 independent learning activity word find includes words associated with food. The answers for the teacher are on the second page.

Where food comes from
This level 1 classroom activity (whole class work) looks at matching pictures to the origins of where food comes from. Some foods come from animals while others are grown. Students can then cut out or draw foods and group them depending on their origins. Students will need paper and crayons and/or magazines.

All Kinds of Food
This level 1 classroom activity (partner, group and whole class work) looks at different foods, when and how you might eat them. Cards can be made of different foods and students work with a partner to describe the foods with their partner guessing from the description what the food is.
