The Life Education mobile classrooms are now a familiar sight to many New Zealand children. The classrooms are air conditioned and equipped with electronic aids, which make learning an exciting experience. There are sophisticated sight and sound techniques, a transparent anatomical manikin, a talking brain and electronic modules showing the circulatory, nervous and digestive systems.

HAROLD the giraffe is the Trust's mascot. Harold demonstrates what happens when things go according to plan and what happens when they don't. Harold is a friendly character and children readily relate to him. The children's responses show that Harold has a huge impact in reinforcing the messages of the programmes. He receives thousands of letters from children each year. The 'classroom of the 21st Century' is designed for informality and spontaneity and for establishing trust.
