Manawatu Life Education Trust started in 1996.

Initial sponsors of the classroom were Eastern & Central Community Trust, NZ Army, Crombie Lockwood Insurance Brokers, Tonys Tyre Service.

Educators - Debbie Clunie from 1996 to 1999, Michelle Tribe 1999 to mid 2003.

The Manawatu Life Education Trust visits 61 schools within the area, with a throughput of between 5500 to 6000 children per year.

In 2001 we designed and trialled the new intermediate school programme, From the Shadows, in the four intermediates in the Manawatu and this programme is now being implemented nationwide.

Current sponsors are Eastern & Central Community Trust, NZ Army (they tow the mobile classroom to schools and house it during holidays), Crombie Lockwood Insurance Brokers, Tonys Tyre Service, Ezibuy, Couchmans, UCol, Page Trust, McCarthy Trust). Rotary Clubs are big supporters of trust activities also.
