VIP (Year 1 & 2

Outline In this programme students explore the concept of being special and unique. Harold shows the students his photo album with pictures of himself getting older and bigger and we can discuss the things that we need to help us all grow up happy and healthy. We also discuss parts inside our bodies with the help of TAM, the transparent anatomical mannequin, particularly muscles, bones, the heart and brain.

  1. Understand that we are special, unique individuals.
  2. Describe our body’s needs.
  3. Understand that we learn new things and change as we get older.
  4. Become comfortable with the mobile classroom environment and the educator.
The learning module delivered might look like this:

Part A

  • Intro to Harold and the mobile classroom
  • Exploring that special people need to keep healthy and well through identifying the main basic needs of food, water, oxygen, washing, exercise, sleep, love shelter and safety

Part B

  • Looking at the human body and naming some major parts and their jobs
  • VIP Book - spotting VIP’s in Harold’s Special Book… a surprise for everyone!
