Life Education Learning Modules

Keeping A Balance (Year 7 & 8)

Outline Students are encouraged to identify stressors in their own lives and establish strategies to maintain a balanced lifestyle. Pubertal change is discussed especially the changes in the brain and the effects that some substances may have on the growing body. With the use of PAT, our Pull Apart Torso, body parts and systems are explored, enabling students to gain a greater depth of understanding about how their own body functions and why it is important to care for it. With the drug focus students will explore a variety of drugs and the effects that they can have on the human body (particularly the maturing body), looking at both short term and long term effects.
