Body Journey (Year 5 & 6)
| Outline | This learning module explores the body and some of its systems including circulatory, nervous and respiratory but focussing on the digestive system. Students are introduced to Lenny Liver and learn about the important functions the liver undertakes. TAM discusses in depth the role of various body parts in the digestive system. Students undertake a food sorting exercise, looking closely at the labels on food packages and identifying the sugar, salt and fat content. The safe use of medicines is also explored to reinforce the varying jobs of the digestive system and the liver in metabolising drugs. |
