Far North

Overview   The Life Education Trust Far North was set up in 1991 with the prime objective of delivering the Life Education Programme to the children in the Far North region. The Trust is reaching Primary and Intermediate children in schools from Towai to Cape Reinga. The Trustees work very hard fundraising by way of catering, raffles, stocktaking, auctions etc. The tractor unit to pull the mobile classroom is very generously donated and sponsored by Toll Holdings.  The annual operating expenses, covering salary, all vehicle costs and administration related costs mean that the Trust has to raise annually approximately $120,000.  All money raised in this area stays in the Far North. Latest News

This year has started on a positive note, with our educator visiting kura, pre-schools, home school students as well as our primary school students.

Trustees have been busy, catering at the Kaikohe Saleyards and organising our recent fundraiser, which was held in conjunction with Okaihau Lions.  What a great night - fun for all, lovely supper provided by Trustees and made some funds as well.


Our next big fundraiser is on August 25th 2012, our annual Gourmet Mystery Tour. This is always a great day, visiting many hidden little treasures of the Far North and making new friends along the way. 

We have 3 new people interested in joining us on the Trust, this will help lighten the load for some who work extremely hard searching for new and innovative ways to get funding.

The Chairperson is delighted to be going to the Annual Conference in Wellington this year, always a motivating and inspirational experience.

We are looking at holding a 4 wheel drive family event in Term 4 - dates to be decided, but should be a lot of fun, and not too dangerous!
